About these terms
These terms and conditions apply to every order you place through maevastudio.co.uk. Maeva Studio (“we”, “us”) runs this website and sells art prints, digital art downloads, jewellery and other products. By placing an order you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not place an order.
If you are a consumer in the UK, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Our products
Digital downloads are files you download after you buy. Nothing is posted to you, and you print the artwork yourself or at a print shop.
Made-to-order items, such as printed art and clothing, are produced after you order and delivered to you.
Each product page says which type of product it is and what is included. We take care to show our products accurately, but colours on screen can look different from the finished item, and printed or worn items may vary slightly.
Placing an order
- When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. We will send you an email to confirm that we have received it.
- A contract between you and us is formed when we send you that order confirmation.
- We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is unavailable or there is a pricing error. If we do, we will refund anything you have paid.
Prices and payment
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP). The price you pay is the price shown at checkout, including any delivery charges shown before you confirm your order.
Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe, using the payment methods shown at checkout. We do not see or store your full card details.
If we find a pricing error after you order, we will contact you before taking any further action.
Digital downloads
- After your payment is confirmed, you can download your files from the order confirmation page and from your confirmation email. If you have an account, they are also listed under Downloads in My Account.
- Please save your files and keep a backup as soon as you download them.
- If a file is faulty, will not open or is not as described, contact us and we will help, replace the file or refund you as the law requires.
- Your right to cancel digital content can end once the download has started. See “Cancelling and returns” below.
Using our artwork
All artwork, designs, text and images on this website belong to Maeva Studio or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright.
When you buy a digital download, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to print the artwork for display in your own home or office, or to give a printed copy as a gift. You may not resell, share, redistribute or upload the files, use them to make products for sale, or use them commercially without our written permission. If you would like to use our artwork in another way, please contact us first.
Delivery of physical items
Made-to-order items are produced after you order, so they are not dispatched immediately. Any delivery times shown on the product page or at checkout are estimates rather than guarantees, and your legal rights if a delivery is late are not affected.
We deliver to the destinations offered at checkout. You become the owner of an item once we have received full payment, and the risk of loss or damage passes to you when it is delivered to you. Please check your order when it arrives and tell us promptly if anything is damaged or incorrect.
Cancelling and returns
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel an order for physical goods within 14 days after the day you receive them, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel, tell us clearly through our contact page, then return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us. Please return items in the condition you received them. We will refund the price and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of receiving proof that you have sent them.
Digital content
If you buy digital content, such as a downloadable file, you may lose your right to cancel once the download has started. This applies only where you have given your express consent to us starting the download and acknowledged that you will lose the right to cancel. Your rights if digital content is faulty or not as described are not affected.
Faulty or incorrect items
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods and digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If something is faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us and we will repair, replace or refund it as the law requires.
These cancellation rights are legal rights for consumers and do not apply to business customers.
Using our website
Please use the website lawfully and do not misuse it. For example, do not try to gain unauthorised access, introduce harmful code, or copy content from the site on a large scale. We may suspend access if these rules are broken.
We try to keep the website available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be uninterrupted or free from errors.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order, or for business losses if you are buying for business use. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Privacy and cookies
We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, and we explain how we use cookies in our Cookie Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your order are the ones shown on this page when you placed it. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
Problems and governing law
If something goes wrong, please contact us first through our contact page so we can try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts there.
